Times Group Partners with Homes First for Giving Tuesday 2023
On November 27, 2023, Times Group proudly announced its commitment to support Homes First during this year’s Giving Tuesday campaign. Homes First plays a crucial role in providing supportive housing and shelter to vulnerable individuals and families in Toronto, offering hope and stability to those who need it most.
This partnership continues our longstanding relationship with Homes First and the City of Toronto. In 2019, we offered our 5800 Yonge Street property as a temporary solution to help address the city’s rising demand for shelter. The site, known as the Willowdale Welcome Centre, was transformed into a 420-bed co-ed shelter, managed by a dedicated team of 40 from Homes First, and served Toronto’s growing refugee population.
As the global refugee crisis continues to escalate, with the number of refugee claimants in Ontario more than doubling since 2022, the need for supportive housing and resources remains urgent. Times Group is committed to helping address this critical issue through partnerships like this one.
